A guest on a snow mound beneath a wide aurora arc over a frozen lake

The experience

The dark is the destination.

You don’t find the aurora under streetlights. You find it out where the snow squeaks underfoot and the only glow is overhead — on a frozen lake with a clear view north, or a quiet forest road with the engine off.

That’s where we take you. The photographs in the guest gallery further down are our guests’ own, taken on nights exactly like the one you’re planning.

The sky in motion

It never holds still.

A photograph catches one moment. The aurora itself folds, ripples and drifts — sometimes slowly, sometimes within seconds. A few short clips of what that looks like.

What to expect

Planned around you. Steered by the sky.

01

Door to door

The evening starts and ends where you’re staying. Give us your accommodation when you book; we confirm your pickup time with the reservation.

02

Properly dark places

Frozen lakes, forest lanes, open fields — locations chosen because they are far from artificial light and open to the northern sky.

03

A route that follows the weather

Cloud cover decides where we go. The plan for the night is made on the night, around where the sky looks clearest.

An honest word about the aurora

We can’t switch the sky on. So we back every tour.

The Northern Lights depend on solar activity and clear sky, and both change by the hour. We bring local roads, patience and the willingness to keep looking — and if our guide’s camera captures no aurora during your tour, you get your tour payment back in full.

Our promise, in writing

No aurora captured by our guide’s camera during your tour? We refund your tour payment in full. You can also book a tour for the following evening at the same package price, subject to availability — that is a separate, paid booking.

The same wording is in our terms

How it works

From request to return.

  1. Request your date

Choose an evening, tell us how many you are and where you’re staying. It takes a couple of minutes and nothing is charged.

  2. We confirm

We check availability and reply with your confirmation: the price for your group, your pickup time and how to pay.

  3. Evening pickup

We collect you from your accommodation and head out of town, away from the light.

  4. Under the sky, then home

We go where the sky is clearest, wait, watch — and bring you back to your door when the night is done.

Colours of the aurora

Green, violet, crimson.

Green is the colour seen most often. Pink and violet fringes show when a display is active, and deep red sits highest of all. Which of them a night brings is up to the sky.

No one can promise that, and we won’t. The aurora depends on solar activity and on clear, dark sky — both change by the hour. What we control is the effort: leaving the town’s light behind and going where the sky looks most promising that night. No aurora captured by our guide’s camera during your tour? We refund your tour payment in full. You can also book a tour for the following evening at the same package price, subject to availability — that is a separate, paid booking.

From €65 per person. Shared seats are priced per person; private tours per car or van. Your total is shown in the booking form before you send anything.

The aurora season in Lapland runs from roughly late August to early April, when the nights are dark enough. Within the season it comes down to solar activity and clear sky on the night itself — which is why a spare evening in your trip is worth having.

Not yet. The booking form sends us a reservation request with a reference number. We check availability for your date and reply to confirm — your booking is final once you’ve heard from us.

Cancellation and change terms are confirmed together with your booking. If your dates might move, tell us in the notes and we’ll make the terms clear before you commit.
